Audition Information
The Genesee Valley Orchestra and Chorus (GVOC) is delighted to announce its 50th season, under music director, Dr. Yunn-Shan Ma!
Founded in 1976, GVOC presents a dynamic repertoire to audiences of all ages, races, religions and cultures.
- Ability to sing or play a musical instrument and willingness to participate in rehearsals and concerts are the only criteria for membership.
- Rehearsals are held at Johanna Perrin Middle School in Fairport. The chorus rehearses on Tuesday evenings and the orchestra rehearses on Thursday evenings.
- Concerts are usually held in December and May in and around the east side of Rochester.
General Information
We are an auditioned ensemble of dedicated musicians of all levels of training, united by a passion for music and our commitment to bringing high quality performances to our community. We are seeking members for all sections of the chorus and orchestra.
Auditions will be heard by appointment with dedicated open audition dates (generally in August/September and January). We welcome members throughout the season at the discretion of the Music Director.

Please note that in order to perform in any concert, our members must attend all rehearsals for that concert (with a limited number of excused absences).
